Grand Reopening of Mihm's

April 21, 1961 N-M Northwestern

Originally located in the shadow of the Bank of Menasha, Mihm’s Charcoal Grill has been a mainstay downtown since 1958.  The above photo shows the original grill.  Now located right across the street, Mihm’s continues to satisfy Menasha’s discriminating palate for fried cheese curds and ground steak sandwiches.

  1. This is the first time I've seen an advertisement for Gears All Star Dairy. Have you ever done a post about them?

  3. The Mihm's menu board still bears the statement, We will not serve Coca Cola." According to my Dad, in the late 50s, when he was opening, Rudy Mihm added that in response to Coke's refusal to provide him with a free lighted outdoor sign. The Coke representative was said to have told Rudy, "You'll never make it without Coke." Rudy could hold a grudge and business is fine. Any visit to Menasha sees us there within 24 hours of arrival. Y-u-u-m!

    2. Truth! I can remember inserting the white letters of that famous statement into the groves of the black menu board when I was a kid! Pam (Mihm) Reinke
