February 20, 1968 N-M Northwestern
As we've featured in the blog and seen periodically in the Northwestern, here is one of the lengthy articles devoted to local businesses. This time, the focus is on a furniture store in the Town of Menasha. I like that they surrounded this feature with ads from other Town businesses as well.
What a small world! My wife and I inherited a bed that was purchased by a relative from Heiman's Furniture in Menasha. I follow Mr. Galassie's posts as they reflect the great history of Menasha. I have the book published by him and the Historical Society. I do hope they put out another volume soon as it too will be a best seller and there is more for us to savor. Please keep up the great information on Menasha. DRC
ReplyDeleteThat Citgo ad.....I wonder if that was the octagon shaped gas station I recall thete-think octagon. If so do you have pictures of that? Seems the furniture store was close to Sabre Lanes?
ReplyDeleteHope the 11 year old boy was found safe. :-(
ReplyDeleteLooks like it would have been where Watters Plumbing is, but I can't remember what was there before... The Tesch building next door looks kind of like an old furniture store.
ReplyDeleteMy grandpa worked at Winnebago Color Press near there.
