You're Invited
December 31, 1964 N-M Northwestern
Listening (or dancing to) WNAM's "music of yesteryear" was but one option in 1964 to help welcome in the New Year. (And what an eclectic array of sponsors...from mufflers and pizza to jewelry and hamburgers.)
Back in the late 50s WNAM was considered incredibly lame by rock 'n' roll loving teenagers listening to Bob Bandy on WAPL. WNAM was a truly "local" station catering to our big band, swing and pop music loving parents. Whatever happened to Bob Schultz, the sports announcer with WNAM? He had a wonderful voice and was a genuinely nice guy? I think he went to TV in the 60s.
