Strange appearance of a giant bird invading downtown Menasha on a Friday. I'm sure the kids were thrilled while passing drivers were perplexed. Fast forward forty-four years and every cell phone camera in the area would have been deployed and social media would be abuzz at the sighting. But on this day, we were just lucky enough to have a news photographer document the occasion. All these years later and Big Bird has still not gone out of style. And he hasn't grown up yet, either.
