To paraphrase Joni Mitchell's song, Big Yellow Taxi...pave paradise (Menasha's Fox River) and put up a parking lot? I wonder how long the City Council entertained this scheme!
Honestly, downtown needs the parking to stimulate the businesses down there (they come and go and I bet I couldn't name half a dozen who've been on main street since the 80s).
Losing the marina and allowing for (the more common) ground business seems like good financial sense to me.
