Here's a rare view, taken from the top of the Walter Brothers Brewery on Nicolet Boulevard in 1898. Featured in one of those "back in Time" compilations, this photo shows the dirt road that Ahnaip Street used to be, as well as the more horse-friendly Nicolet Boulevard, also known then as "The Avenue."
The last house visible on Nicolet I believe was Christian Walter's, on the corner of Walnut Street.

ReplyDeleteJPJ is Jens P. Jensen, a stone cutter on First St. Neenah. He was an amateur photographer who took many valuable pictures. The Neenah Historical Society has an entire photo album of his work. Another good one of Menasha is: https://www.flickr.com/photos/144588813@N02/27681924260/in/photolist-Jba6Ed-J7hEcY-JrKwgb-HEx1UF-JxNpXm-HyUzVq-HEC2nA-21uqyfx-21uqy2g-Zpgay9-Zpgagf-Zpg9Ef-21uqwEi-Zpg9oU-21ipoQP-21ipoKt-21ipoqF-21ipoir-21ipo7p-21ipnQc-21pywuh-GxNTf6-21uqxQz-21uqxK4-21uqxxF-GmM32e-21ipoZr-21ipoC4-21ipoyg-GcEaqR-214q8cS-214q83y-GcE9Zv-214q7HA-GcE9NP-GcE9En-214q7oY-GcE9tR-212ixgu-214mmCU-214mmww-212ix1E-214mmny-212iwM3-YDyfWx-YEssQu-YEssLG-YEssHq-YEssyN-YEssuu
