I'd have liked to have been in the audience for this talk, if only to see how safety with electricity was integrated into a circus type presentation. Plus, I like circuses. Judging from all the accoutrements, this guy must have made the "circuit," going from school to school and town to town throughout Wisconsin. (Go ahead, groan with me.)

Watt? Your use of these revolting puns is shocking. The energy and frequency of this blog lights up my life and amps up the enjoyment of the internet until it hertz! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe man in the picture is Don Atkins, he's my great grand uncle, I've been doing a lot of research on him, and I've recently found that the suit he is wearing in that image is actually still around! he also had a line of coloring books made from this image, his wife (who is 104 this month, by the way) still has a lot of them, in addition to a lot of his other circus stuff, its been really fun trying to parse together his performance history. (he also owned a clock shop and some other stuff)
