Although these teachers are dressed in "Gay Nineties" clothes, I can see something similar worn by Menasha citizens 150 years ago when it became a city. The Charlie Chaplin imitator is well beyond the time frames mentioned here, however.
In 1945, the Gay Nineties were only 50 years ago...just like having a 1970s day today. The clothes we wore in the 1970s seemed "cool" at the time but, Good Lord, looking back at photos tells a different story!
ReplyDeleteNow I feel old again. Somebody last week remarked to me that the start of America's involvement in WWI in 1917 was only 53 years before in 1970 when I was a young teenager. Now, that 1970 benchmark is 53+ years ago from today. Yikes! Thanks, Kris, lol.
