It looks like we might have heard the last from Mr. Lake, who appears to have escaped the hands of justice. And...it's a strange ending for Detective Fero, as well. But why is he hanging around to see after Mr. Lake's welfare, even though he severed his connection to the case seemingly over a dispute about expenses? Hmmm. Was he in league with Mr. Lake?
