What a great idea, but then, every year in the spring, there'd be that announcement in the paper about moving it out of the way so the navigation season could begin. See below. That was just the way it had to be along the canal.

This article suggests that I am not totally crazy. I mentioned this bridge to several people who did not remember it. Others swore up and down that it never existed. I wonder what year the Woodenware stopped using this bridge.
ReplyDeleteI wondered about that myself. I never found any further announcements past 1964 about moving it aside for navigation season.
